He states that he has written to Mr Cranna (the Conservative Secretary in Glasgow) and expresses hope that the Motherwell Association can wait a little longer. He refers to exasperation of troops at newspapers "which seem to treat the whole thing as over" and complains at the likely effect of staging a VE day while there is still organised resistance in Europe.
