Telegram from WSC [Marrakesh, Morocco] to General Sir Hastings Ismay [Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence] for the Chiefs of Staff, Deputy Prime Minister [Clement Attlee], Foreign Secretary [Anthony Eden, later Lord Avon], and the Defence Committee stating that it has been decided unanimously for the Anzio [Italy] landings to take place as planned, weather permitting, and giving details; and that the plans work towards an X date [May 1944] for Overlord [invasion of Normandy, France] and Anvil [invasion of the South of France]. Marked: "From Sextant".
