Scope and Contents
Telegram from Field Marshal Sir Harold Alexander [later Lord Alexander of Tunis, Supreme Allied Commander Mediterranean Theatre] marked "Strictly Personal" reporting on the situation in Athens [Greece]: stating that British troops can hold their present positions but cannot defeat the rebels at that time; giving details of troop numbers in Athens and Salonica [Greece]; suggesting key military objectives for stabilising the situation; and stating that he might have to send another Infantry division from Italy.
