Scope and Contents

Telegram from WSC to Marshal Stalin marked "Personal and Top Secret" stating that Allied forces have got control of the approaches to Antwerp [Belgium] opening up a northern flank for advance into Germany; detailing substantial Allied casualties in the Netherlands and Belgium, the situation in Italy; stating that he is awaiting the return of Dr Ivan Subasic [Ban of Croatia, Prime Minister of the Royal Yugoslavian Government] from Moscow [Soviet Union] before proceeding any further on Yugoslavian matters; and assuring him that regarding Poland he still supports the position he did in Moscow on its eastern border [the Curzon Line].
