Prime Minister's printed personal minutes, June 1944.Includes texts of minutes from WSC (annotated with additional printed information) to: senior civil servants, including Sir Edward Bridges [Secretary to the War Cabinet]; General Sir Hastings Ismay [Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence]; members of the Cabinet and other government ministers, particularly Foreign Secretary [Anthony Eden, later 1st Lord Avon]; the Chiefs of Staff; Major-General Leslie Hollis and Colonel Ian Jacob [Military Assistant Secretaries to the War Cabinet].Subjects covered by the minutes include: Soviet policy concerning Japan; the allied entry into Rome [Italy]; matters concerning D Day, including security restrictions; Yugoslav affairs; a shortage of manpower for the army; French civil affairs, including currency matters; British relations with France on subjects including General de Gaulle [President of the Provisional Government of the French Republic] visiting France and tensions with Major-General Sir Edward Spears [First Minister to the Republics of Syria and the Lebanon]; the change of government in Italy; appointing Colonial administrators; the "Crossbow" [Operations against German Rockets and Pilotless Aircraft] Committee; British participation in the war against Japan; the oil delegation.
