Letter from WSC to Mr W Averell Harriman stating: that in Washington [United States] he had agreed to accept 2000 American tanks but that this would involve a cut in the Centaur programme of 1000 but since returning has decided to accept only 1000 tanks which would still cut the Centaur programme in 1944 by 700 and that in return he is asking him to accelerate the delivery of the special purpose machine tool to be used for the meteor engine programme which will speed the build up of the Cromwell tanks Signed.
