Scope and Contents
Telegram from WSC to President Roosevelt marked "personal and secret" reciting text of message from General Charles De Gaulle [Leader of the Free French] to General Henri Giraud (Algiers [Algeria]) arguing that the assassination [of Admiral Jean Darlan] emphasises the need for national authority to be established and proposing that they meet as soon as possible in Algeria or Chad to study the means of grouping all French forces struggling for the liberation of France under a single provisional central authority.
