Telegram from Minister of State in the Middle East [Richard Casey] to WSC marked "personal" reporting on his recent eight day visit to Iraq and Persia [now Iran] and commenting on: the difficulties facing General Sir Henry Wilson [Commander in Chief Persia and Iraq] ; his discussions with General Wladyslaw Anders [Commander Polish Forces in Iran and Palestine], including the question of a further approach to Stalin regarding the release of the 60,000 Poles still believed to be in Russia; the preparations for the despatch of an air contingent to the Soviet Union; and the economic problems facing Iraq and Persia.
