Telegram from General Sir Archibald Wavell [Commander in Chief India] to WSC marked "personal": reports on visit to Eastern Army in north east Assam, Fort Hertz (Burma [later Myanmar]) and Makqpur and refers to high incidence of malaria; reports on visit to Chinese at Ramgarh and proposals to increase force; comments on talks with Wellington Koo [Chinese Ambassador to Britain] and telegram from Chiang-Kai-Shek [President of China]; refers to forthcoming talks with General Joseph Stilwell [Commander United States Forces in China, Burma and India] and to problems over the control of the Tenth Air Force; thanks WSC for showing him the Stalin telegrams.
