Letter from [Saville] Garner [Private Secretary to Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs] (Dominions Office) to [John] Martin [Prime Minister's Private Secretary] on the Duke of Windsor's [earlier Edward, Prince of Wales, and King Edward VIII, Governor and Commander in Chief of the Bahamas] proposed trip to Canada via Washington and New York [United States], enclosing copies of telegrams between Lord Halifax [earlier Edward Wood and Lord Irwin, British Ambassador to the United States] and Sir Walter Monckton (Foreign Office), and a draft telegram to Malcolm MacDonald, United Kingdom High Commissioner in Canada. Signed typescript dated 27 June, annotated on 1 July by WSC and Martin, and copies of the earlier documents.
