Letter from WSC to Neville Chamberlain on the composition of the new War Cabinet: [Clement] Attlee and [Arthur] Greenwood both want to be included; WSC wants A V Alexander [later 1st Lord Alexander of Hillsborough], [Herbert] Morrison and [Ernest] Bevin; [Hugh] Dalton and [Sir Archibald] Sinclair [later 1st Lord Thurso] must be considered; asks Chamberlain to be Lord President of the Council; adds that British and French Forces are already on the Antwerp-Namur line [Belgium]. [draft carbon; annotated by WSC at a later date "Bk.3 ch.1"].
