Scope and Contents
Telegram from Admiralty to Vice-Admiral John De Robeck, Dardanelles, reporting that two more infantry divisions were to be sent out, and that the presence of German submarines in Turkish waters made it undesirable to expose "Queen Elizabeth", which was to sail for home at once with all despatch and utmost secrecy. and that instead he would have the older battleships "Exmouth" and "Venerable", and that the two new Monitors "Admiral Farragut" and "Stonewall Jackson" would be sent out before the end of the month [typescript copy].
