Scope and Contents
Telegram from Admiralty to Vice-Admiral Sackville Carden, Dardanelles, stating that when HMS "Inflexible" arrived he should transfer his Flag to her, and send HMS "Indefatigable" to Malta for refit. If he needed to be at Malta to make preparations, he should wait until relieved by Rear-Admiral John de Robeck, who would have temporary rank of Vice-Admiral. Stating that it was imperative for Britain to retain command off the Dardanelles, and retain a Battle Cruiser, and a V.A. there [typescript copy].
