Telegram from WSC, First Lord of the Admiralty to Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, C. in C., Grand Fleet, on bad reports of Vice Admiral Sir Cecil Burney's health and vigour. Suggesting Rear-Admiral Rosslyn Wemyss [later Lord Wester Wemyss] to succeed him as VAC 1st Battle Squadron,. Stating that during Jellicoe's indisposition the Admiralty felt it necessary that Sir David Beatty should command the Grand Fleet, and they were giving him rank as Vice-Admiral and Acting Admiral accordingly [typescript copy].
