Scope and Contents
Telegram from WSC, First Lord of the Admiralty to the Commander-in-Chief, Home Fleet [Admiral Sir John Jellicoe], on Vice-Admiral Sir David Beatty's appointment as temporary commander of the Grand Fleet during Jellicoe's absence. WSC states that there was no question of removing Beatty from the battle cruisers permanently, or of appointing a second in command to the Grand Fleet, and adds that Rear-Admiral Osmond Brock would take temporary command of the battle cruisers. [Hand-written copy, initialled by WSC, annotated "not sent"].
