Telegrams from Admiralty to the Commander-in-Chief, East Indies [Admiral Sir Richard Peirse], firstly informing him that operations in the Red Sea would be directed by the Senior Naval Officer, Egypt [Captain George Borrett], and secondly stating that it was necessary for him to take charge of naval operations in Egypt as soon as possible, while retaining command of the East Indies station.
