Diary of a visit by 1st Lord Haldane [Secretary of State for War] to Berlin [Germany], 8-9 Feb 1912. Includes accounts of Haldane's conversations with: the Chancellor of Germany [Theobald von Bethmann Hollweg], on the balance of power in Europe, the increase in the British and German fleets and territorial questions in Africa; the Emperor [Kaiser Wilhelm II] and Grand-Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz [Head of the German Admiralty] on German naval increases; and with J Cambon [? French Ambassador to Germany] on Britain's intentions towards Germany and France. Also includes sketch of a formula for keeping the balance of power, and German proposals for relations with Britain in Persia [Iran], Turkey and Africa. [Carbon].
