Minute from Admiral of the Fleet 1st Lord Fisher [1st Sea Lord] to WSC [First Lord of the Admiralty] and Rear-Admiral Henry Oliver, Chief of Staff, Admiralty, stating that as the Invincible and the Inflexible had expended 75 per cent of their ammunition, and there was a danger of their being intercepted by the Derfflinger, Vice-Admiral Sir [Frederick] Doveton Sturdee should be instructed to take his squadron to Jamaica. Includes a note by Oliver, stating that the battle cruisers should go to St Vincent without delay as Jamaica was remote, and poorly defended. [Hand-written, with typescript copy].
