Letter from WSC [First Lord of the Admiralty] to the Prime Minister [Herbert Asquith, later 1st Lord Oxford and Asquith] on senior naval appointments: recommending that the 4th Sea Lord, Captain William Pakenham, be appointed to a Cruiser Squadron, and Commodore Cecil Lambert appointed in his place; also proposing that Admiral Sir Alfred Winsloe [Commander, China Station] be appointed Commander-in- Chief, Mediterranean from July 1914, with Sir [Archibald] Berkeley Milne [Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean] being appointed Commander-in-Chief at the Nore. [Hand-written, signed by WSC, with note by Maurice Bonham- Carter, Private Secretary to Asquith, giving Asquith's approval].
