(Untitled), 29 May 1913
Scope and Contents
Letter from Sir Francis Hopwood [Additional Lord of the Admiralty, later 1st Lord Southborough] to WSC [First Lord of the Admiralty] on the political situation in Canada, where the Naval Bill and the Supply Bill would probably be defeated, forcing Robert Borden [Prime Minister of Canada] to call a General Election. Hopwood also comments on the oil supply question, on possible contracts with the Shell Oil Company, Anglo-Persian Oil Company [later the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company] and Mexican companies.
