Letter from Admiral Sir George King-Hall, Commander in Chief, Australia Station, to WSC, First Lord of the Admiralty, on the rum ration in the Royal Navy, advocating scheme to give 1d a day to sailors who voluntarily stopped their rum ration, pointing out that a large percentage of men "gave away or sold their grog", enclosing typescript copy of letter to the Secretary of the Admiralty, dated 14 Mar 1911, on the rum ration, particularly the statistics compiled by Captain Ogilvy of HMS Natal, on loss of efficiency due to the issue of grog.
