Letter from Admiral of the Fleet 1st Lord Fisher [Hotel National, Lucerne, Switzerland], to WSC, with congratulations on his appointment as First Lord of the Admiralty, offering to come to London and give him "all the help in my power", giving his views on senior Naval appointments, commenting that Admiral of the Fleet Sir Arthur Wilson [1st Sea Lord] was magnificent at sea, but had wrecked Reginald McKenna [WSC's predecessor] ashore, that until Vice-Admiral Sir John Jellicoe commands the Home Fleet "Wilson is our Admiralissimo! Jellicoe is as great as Nelson, but is not senior enough yet", recommending Prince Louis of Battenberg [later 1st Lord Milford Haven] as 1st Sea Lord and stating that he would offer to be WSC's "Chief of the Navy General Staff - there is room for an immense coup there but I don't want to embarrass you".
