Scope and Contents

Letter from Hugh Orr-Ewing, Chief Organizer, India Defence League to Violet Pearman [Private Secretary to WSC], commenting on letters on India received by WSC; stating that His Holiness Jagadguro Shri Shankarasharya was of importance to Hindus, and a letter from WSC congratulating him on his attitude would be of value, and that the Nawabzada Mohammad Azim Khan of Toru was "an enthusiastic and well educated Pathan" who had incurred the wrath of the Viceroy [of India, 1st Lord Willingdon, earlier Freeman Freeman-Thomas] by his activities in opposing the Government's reform schemes, suggesting that WSC should meet him.
