(Untitled), 17 Jun 1935
Scope and Contents
Letter from WSC to Sir John Anderson, [Governor of Bengal (later parts of Bangladesh and India), later 1st Lord Waverley] with thanks for his letter of introduction for [? Ghanshyam] Birla; commenting that by the time he received the letter the India Bill would be through the House of Lords, and that he was very glad not to share Anderson's responsibilities in connection with it. Also commenting that the Irish Free State [later Ireland] had gone all wrong but the loss of Ireland was petty and "they were more trouble than they were worth. If Indian affairs degenerate as the Irish have done the loss will be disastrous". [Carbon].
