Scope and Contents

Letter from "Archie" [Sir Archibald Sinclair, later 1st Lord Thurso, Leader, Liberal Parliamentary Party] (Dalnawillan, Altnabreac, Caithness [Scotland]), to WSC, regretting that he is unable to accept WSC's dinner invitation. He comments on his admiration for WSC's speeches, and his delight at seeing WSC's "stock soaring!", but thinks that "a November election would be a rotten trick to play", particularly unfair on the Labour Party and also the Liberals, as they have been supporting the Government foreign policy, against their own interests. Manuscript.
