Scope and Contents
Letter from [WSC] to Pierre Flandin, [Minister of State, France], thanking him for his letter, describing how he has watched Flandin's heroic struggle against unfair political odds, and rejoices that his calm strength is now in the service of France. WSC says that he fears greatly the dangers menacing both their countries, "and indeed what is still called civilisation", but still thinks, as he has for the last 25 years, "that England and France will somehow or other come through them together". He asks Flandin to visit him on any weekend, and will let him know if he should be in France himself. Unsigned copy.
