Scope and Contents

Letter from John Morgan [ex-Counsel to the India Defence League, and Counsel to the Indian Chamber of Princes] (Priory Cottage, Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire) to WSC, on a letter which he wrote to Lord Wolmer [later 3rd Lord Selborne], which has been passed on to WSC, about the arbitrary attitude taken up by the India Office regarding amendments to the India Bill on the position of the Indian Princes. The letter was only intended for circulation to certain members of the India Defence League, and Morgan would like it to be shown to Lord Carson. Morgan also asks WSC to write an introduction for his book "Germany in Arms" which is soon to be published, based on his article about the German avoidance of disarmament, and on an address about the de-militarization of the Rhineland; he encloses a leaflet of press notices on the original article [see CHAR 2/236/29].
