Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC to Dame [Fanny] Lucy Houston, thanking her for her letter, but fearing that it would not be much use insisting upon the next Government being Conservative, as the majority of MPs think that they will do better in the forthcoming election under the title "National"; he has already stated publicly that he will stand as Conservative and National himself. WSC adds that he is "pleased to have played a useful part in warning the Government of the growth of the German air force", though he is sorry that they did not take his advice in time, and says that he hopes Randolph Churchill will be back in time to fight the election. Unsigned copy.
