Scope and Contents
Letter from Leo Amery (112 Eaton Square [London]) to WSC, commenting on a memorandum on British Nationality in South Africa sent to WSC by the South African Dominion Party; he explains the distinction between British nationality and local citizenship, and the South African Government's dislike of the words "British" and "subject", preferring to use "common status"; the situation is compared with that in Ireland and Eamon De Valera's refusal to recognise rights for British subjects from elsewhere, or to have Irishmen described as British subjects when in Britain.
