Scope and Contents

Letter from Lord Wolmer [later 3rd Lord Selborne] (Blackmoor, Liss, Hampshire) to Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Martin Archer-Shee hoping that Archer-Shee will not stand in the Fulham [London] by-election against the official Conservative candidate because a split in the party would be resented by the increasing number of Conservatives who oppose the Government's policy on India but who wish to await the report of the Joint Select Committee before coming out into the open.
