Brigadier-General Sir James Edmonds] on: the isolated position of the Viceroy under the proposals in the White Paper on India; the severe strains on the finances of the central Indian government which will lead to an extremely dangerous reduction in the size of the army; the Prime Minister's proposals for the reduction of Britain's air strength and the danger of Russia establishing air bases in Afghanistan; the attitude of the Indian princes to the White Paper proposals.
