Letter from J P Hutchings, general secretary of the National Federation of Insurance Workers, to [John Davidson, later Lord Davidson] stating that the Labour Party has assured the Federation that there will be no legislation to nationalise life assurance until the views of policy holders and employees have been considered, and asking that a Conservative leaflet attacking the policy [see CHAR 2/166/5] be withdrawn, 18 May 1929 Correspondence between the Federation and the Labour Party on the nationalisation policy, 23 Feb to 3 Apr 1929 Copies sent to Conservative candidates.
