(Untitled), 31 Dec 1929
Scope and Contents
Letter from Sir John Reith [later Lord Reith] (Savoy Hill, London) to WSC drawing his attention to a clause in the BBC's licence from the Postmaster-General which would prevent them from accepting WSC's offer of 100 pounds for the right to broadcast for half an hour on politics, asking whether WSC really thinks that the BBC should follow "the American plan" of giving access to broadcasting "on a cash basis, irrespective of any consideration of content or balance", and reporting that there has been no request from the parties for political broadcasting since the general election.
