Letter from [WSC] (Chartwell) to [Stanley Baldwin] arguing that the Government should proceed along the lines of Baldwin's letter [to Robert Eyres Monsell stating that there would be no general reintroduction of Protection] and that new talent should be introduced into the Government team. Reports that he has been building a cottage and dictating a book at Chartwell and that Sir Douglas Hogg [later 1st Lord Hailsham] is grateful [for his appointment as Lord Chancellor].
