Scope and Contents

Letter from [? 1st Lord Rothermere, earlier Sir Harold Harmsworth] (La Dragonniere, Cap Martin, [France]) to WSC urging him to "spread terror and disarray in the ranks of the squandermaniacs", arguing that since revenues from heavy industry are declining any tax reductions made now will have to be reversed in 1927 or 1926, asserting that Britain's traditional "leisurely" economic methods are unsuited to the new era of intense competition, claiming that the Bricklayers' Union has caused overmanning in the trade compared with that in France and drawing a similar comparison between the numbers of government ministers in the two countries.
