Letter from [Lieutenant-Colonel Douglas Robinson] (The Homestead, Neeld Crescent, Hendon [Middlesex]) to [Herbert Asquith, later 1st Lord Oxford and Asquith] stating that he would be prepared to support Protection if it could be proved that it would benefit the country, which Stanley Baldwin [later Lord Baldwin] failed to do, and arguing that since the Liberals cannot form a government themselves they should support the Conservatives in order to promote moderate policies. Copy sent with CHAR 2/137/5.
