Scope and Contents

Letter from Sir Robert Horne [later Lord Horne of Slamannan] (59 Pall Mall, London) to WSC reporting that it is certain that the whole Conservative party will vote for the Liberal amendment [calling for an enquiry into the dropping of charges against John Campbell] after their censure vote is defeated and agreeing with WSC that, although a Commons debate on the Russian treaty would give further ammunition to the Opposition in an election campaign, the opportunity to force an election presented by the Campbell case should not be spurned.
