Letter from [WSC] (Chartwell) to Sir Robert Horne [later Lord Horne of Slamannan] on the grave threat posed to the Government by the Liberal amendment calling for an enquiry [into the dropping of charges against John Campbell] and the need to ensure that it is carried. Warns of the difficulties the Conservatives would face if they took office in the present parliament with the support of the Asquithian Liberals and argues that now is the time when a general election will do maximum damage to the Labour Party.
