Scope and Contents
Letter from [WSC] (Chartwell) to F Stanley Jackson sending a letter he has received from Sir Harry Goschen [inviting him to be the Conservative candidate for the Epping Division of Essex], pressing Jackson for news of his plan to enable WSC to stand for Richmond [Surrey], pointing to the Government's signing of "this farcical Russian Treaty" as a sign that a general election is approaching, hoping that the Opposition will not be out-manoeuvred over the Irish [boundary] question and approving Jackson's remarks on the subject.
