Scope and Contents

Letter from M H Ispahani, honorary secretary of the London Muslim League (18 Sloane Street, [London]) to the Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign Office [Cecil Harmsworth] urging the British government to take an impartial attitude to the allegations of atrocities in Anatolia because the belief that they are favouring the Greeks against the Turks is alienating Muslim opinion in India. Calls for the evacuation of Asia Minor and Eastern Thrace by the Greeks, the withdrawal of the Allies from Constantinople and the opening of Anatolia to outside enterprise as a safeguard for the minorities there. Warns against driving the Muslims of western Asia into the arms of the Bolsheviks. Copy sent with CHAR 2/123/189-190.
