Scope and Contents

"Notes on the advisability of an early general election" by [Sir Philip Sassoon]. Argues that an early election is in the Government's interests because it is currently enjoying credit for the Irish agreement and the Washington Conference, the business community and tax-payers generally are looking forward to economising measures proposed by the Geddes Committee, the unemployment crisis has been successfully met, and the divisive issue of reform of the House of Lords will arise later.
