Scope and Contents
Letter from [WSC] (Colonial Office) to Lord French [earlier Sir John French, later Lord Ypres] welcoming him back to England [from Ireland] and praising the strength which saw him through the Curragh Mutiny, the war and the problems in Ireland. Suggests that WSC, French and Lord Haldane [earlier Sir Richard Haldane] dine together, laments the death of Lord Ranksborough [earlier John Brocklehurst] and asks to see some of the letters he wrote to French in the early days of the war.
