Scope and Contents

Letter from General Sir Ian Hamilton (1 Hyde Park Gardens, [London]) to WSC expressing the hope that Commodore Francis Mitchell's report will be out before the Dardanelles Commission papers are laid before the House of Commons and that it will be seen "that a definite limitation of our commitments in the West would have ensured complete success at Gallipoli". Mentions his objections to the use of quotations from his letters to Lord Kitchener, Sir George Arthur's untenable assertions that Egypt was denuded of troops, and Sir John Maxwell's reaction when he found Arthur talking to Hamilton's secretary.
