Telegram from General Sir Ian Hamilton to Lord Kitchener on what he has learnt from his fellow senior officers of the strength of the Turkish position on Gallipoli, his confidence in Vice-Admiral John de Roebeck and his belief that the 29th Division should be sent direct to Alexandria [Egypt] rather than Lemnos (18 Mar).
