Telegram from the War Office to the General Officer Commanding, Egypt [Lieutenant-General Sir John Maxwell] asking him to ensure that the remainder of General Sir William Birdwood's force embarks from Alexandria for the Dardanelles as soon as they are required by Vice Admiral Sackville Carden and quoting a telegram from the Admiralty to Admiral Rosslyn Wemyss [later Lord Wester Wemyss] on the feasibility of concentrating all of Birdwood's force on Lemnos (15 Mar).
