(Untitled), 08 Jul [1910]
Scope and Contents
Letter from Henry Brailsford, honorary secretary of the Conciliation Committee for Woman Suffrage (32 Well Walk, Hampstead, [London]), to WSC noting that both the supporters of adult suffrage like David Lloyd George and opponents of it are against the bill being promoted by the Committee and hoping that men like WSC and [Augustine] Birrell who want a moderate solution will say so. Believes it is vital for the Bill to be sent to a Grand Committee and cites relevant precedents. Encloses an article by him answering the argument that the Bill is not democratic [see CHAR 2/47/19].
