Scope and Contents
Letter from WSC (Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York [United States]) to Sir James Hawkey [Vice-Chairman of Epping Division Conservative Association, Essex], on his recovery following his road accident in New York, and announcing his intention to return to Britain on 17 March, in time for the Budget; also commenting that the Government was adopting his policy on India, and there would be no need to "press them on that subject"; also commenting that he expected the Ramsay MacDonald [Prime Minister] - Stanley Baldwin [Lord President of the Council] combination to last for some time "in a sort of amorphous and gelatinous condition", and asking Hawkey to arrange a constituency meeting at the Royal Forest Hotel [Chingford, Essex].
