Scope and Contents

Correspondents include: representatives of the Daily Mirror, the Editor, Cecil Thomas, Anthony Clarkson [Features Editor] and Cecil King on subjects including arrangements for WSC publishing articles in the Mirror, financial terms, the accuracy of a statement in an article on Japan, WSC being unable to continue writing articles due to the outbreak of war, and suggesting Alfred Duff Cooper [later 1st Lord Norwich] as a replacement (11); Randolph Churchill on the agreement with the Mirror; Hugh Cudlipp, Editor of the Sunday Pictorial, on letters supporting Cudlipp's assertion that WSC should enter the Cabinet; Louis Ollivier of the Paris [France] Office of Press Alliance Incorporated on the syndication of Daily Mirror articles outside the United Kingdom; Edward Ingram of the Foreign Office on WSC's article, "What of the Tyrol? The Churchill archive is freely available in our reading rooms and onsite at Churchill College (via the Churchill College wireless network). For conservation reasons, the fragile originals are no longer issued to researchers.

This digital edition is open to researchers unless otherwise marked in the catalogue. Some material has been closed by the Cabinet Office or by Churchill Archives Centre in accordance with data protection legislation.
