Includes typed notes: marked "from Louis [Edward] Spears" on inadequacies in the mobilisation of anti-aircraft defences in London; of a speech by Anthony Eden [later Lord Avon] at a St George's Dinner (26 April 1938) on "England", the ideals of the English people, the dangers facing the world, the damaging effect of World War I, and the need for national unity; for articles on "The Blessings of Capitalism" praising capitalism, commenting on the effects of the 1929 Crash, and arguing against government interference, and "Is Speculation Harmful?" defending the taking of risks as essential to the capitalist system.
