Correspondence between Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Hordern, WSC's researcher, and various people including: WSC on his expenses and proof-reading; Charles Scribner on proofs of an American edition of the book (6); H J Bourne of Thornton Butterworth Limited (9); Butler and Tanner Limited on the preparation of proofs of the book (5); Sir Alfred Knox (2), Edward Marsh (2), Sir Maurice Hankey [Secretary to the Committee of Imperial Defence] (4) and Walter Elliot (2) on proof-reading and suggested corrections; Brigadier General James Edmonds of the Military Branch of the Historical Section (4) on various subjects including a request that his name should not appear in connection with the book; and Violet Pearman, Secretary to WSC.Also includes instructions for the correction of proofs.
